Our first step to putting action behind our words
Dosh Team,
The past week has left me feeling nothing short of heartbroken. The loss of George Floyd’s life and protests across the country, highlights the deep pain, frustration, and inequality the Black community has experienced for far too long.
Black lives matter and this is a moment in time that we need to come together to forever end discrimination and hatred for all. There are small glimmers of hope to show that it is possible, being demonstrated through incredible moments of unity and support between protestors and police officers, that, like a lightning rod, are so striking, they remind us there is more good in the world, than bad.
My hope is that we can all grab hold of that unity and direct it towards dismantling racism in America. I’ll be working with my team over the coming weeks and months to ensure that we continue to push this conversation and action forward in a positive way.
Together,
Ryan
And as he shared in his note, action would follow this statement of support for the Black community. And he took that very seriously. Over the past 10 days, the team has been working to build a program where Dosh can put its platform to work to support Black-owned businesses. Change starts here.
We’re excited to invite all Austin-based Black-owned businesses who have a retail storefront to the Dosh platform for free, for 30 days. That means you can offer your customers 7% cash back (up to $500 total for the 30 days), while we also waive our 5% marketing fee. There’s no cost to you and there’s no catch. Just 30 days of free marketing and giving your customers who shop with you in-store cash back automatically.
This is just the first step to making positive change for the Black community. And it all adds up.
